RS is my 4th BMW motorcycle and so far, very impressive! Was all set to buy a 1300GSA until I saw the new RS. The riding season here in the PNW is winding down but I`ve got plans to ride down to N Cal next month to do some exploring! Really looking forward to moving back to North GA next year for some better riding in my opinion.

Hey Chris. Where in the PNW are you located? I disagree about the riding season being over, but I live in Portland. I’ve personally never needed a battery tender because I ride as much of the year as I can, and this year was a good one with Jan and Feb being super mild. You really just need rain gear and gear to stay warm, but if your RS has heated grips and the heated seat that makes it easy. For me, the rare snow and ice days are the only non-negotiable days. I’ve been riding to work all this week, and the rain mode on the RS is amazing.

I`m near Seattle. You must think I`m a newbie! I said the riding season was winding down > I didn't say it was over. I have been riding for over 40 yrs, so I think I know a thing or two about the types of riding gear...which I have a lot of. I always keep all my motorcycles on battery tenders to constantly maintain the battery when not riding. I`m retired so I ride almost every week as much as possible!
